The metaphor that refers to the body as our “real home” or “temple” comes to highlight that our body is the only one we have throughout our entire life and thus, it is vital to fuel it properly and keep it well-nourished and happy.

In that regard, physical self-care is a key aspect of self care and includes those activities that improve the well-being of our physical health. It can be as simple as brushing our teeth in the morning or taking a warm shower. It has to do with the food we eat, the sleep we get, the physical activity we do; overall, with how well we take care of our physical needs.

Once we are able to practice good physical self-care, then we can be able to adopt other forms of self-care into our routine as well!

When it comes to physical self-care, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Are you getting adequate sleep?
  • Is your diet fueling your body well?
  • Are you taking charge of your health?
  • Are you getting enough exercise?

Take your dog or your kids for a walk. A walk will make you relax, which helps you sleep better

#5 Take a break from your routine

If you are not feeling well, take a rest or a day off from work. If you are working, have a lunch break and walk away from your desk

The sun can be your body’s best friend; it not only boosts your mood, but its rays have tangible benefits for your physical well-being
