The company has a clear policy of open reporting of all safety related events and in particular hazardous occurrences. In reporting period, 18 Near-misses have been reported in comparison to 28 reported last year; that is -35,71 % decrease in reported near-misses in comparison to last year. We need to keep in mind that St. Nikolas was seized since 11/1/24, resulting to no access to the system to insert any data.
The majority of events reported are unsafe conditions (44,44%) followed by near misses and unsafe acts 27.78% each.
Most of them are as a results of Slips Trips & falls, Poor housekeeping & Unsafe Equipment all three with 13.04% followed by Fire /Explosion, PPE, Stop Work authority & Unsafe use of Equipment at 8.70% each.
Hazardous occurrences reported are mainly on in the Accommodation (38.89%) followed by the Engine Room (33.33%), Main Deck (11,11%) followed by the rest of the areas: Gangways & Accommodation ladder, Mess room and Mooring Aft (5.56% each).
