The company has a clear policy of open reporting of all safety related events and in particular hazardous occurrences. In reporting period, 50 Near-misses have been reported in comparison to 68 reported last year. We need to keep in mind that St. Nikolas was seized since 11/1/24, resulting to no access to the system to insert any data.
The majority of events reported are unsafe Acts (38%) followed by Near Miss (34%) and Unsafe Conditions (28%).
Most of them are as a results of Poor housekeeping & Slips Trips & falls with 12.68 %, PPE & Unsafe Use of Equipment with 9.86%, Fire /Explosion at 7.04%, Maintenance Deck, Manual Handling/Lifting with 5.63%, Unsafe Equipment 4.23% followed by all other categories.
Hazardous occurrences reported are mainly on in the Engine Room (28.30%) followed by Accommodation (20.75%), Main Deck (16.98%) followed by the rest of the areas.
