The company has a clear policy of open reporting of all safety related events and in particular hazardous occurrences. In reporting period, 78 Near-misses have been reported in comparison to 96 reported last year. We need to keep in mind that St. Nikolas was seized since 11/1/24, resulting to no access to the system to insert any data.
The majority of events reported are unsafe Acts (34.62%) followed by unsafe conditions (32.05%) near misses (60.77%) and High Potential NM (2.56%).
Most of them are as a results of Slips Trips & falls with 11.93 %, Poor housekeeping & PPE 10.09%, Fire /Explosion at 7.34%, Maintenance Deck, Unsafe Use of Equipment 6.42%, Firefighting equipment & Manual Handling/Lifting to 4.59% followed by all other categories.
Hazardous occurrences reported are mainly on in the Main Deck (26.51%) followed by Engine Room (25.30%), Accommodation (14.46%) followed by the rest of the areas.
