China MSA Will Carry Out Special Safety Supervision over Ships Entering Shanghai from 21 Oct to 10 Nov 2022

The Club would like to direct attention to the latest circular from our Club correspondent OASIS P&I Services Ltd.

This circular relates to the announcement of special safety supervision for ships entering the controlled waters of Huangpu River of Shanghai from 21 October to 10 November 2022 to ensure the smooth holding of the Fifth China International Import Expo. The announcement provides a diagram of controlled waters in Huangpu River and lists various requirements for both domestic and international trading ships respectively.

Ships are suggested to follow the relevant requirements in the announcement as well as the regulation against covid-19, the crew member shall complete the required forms carefully and submit to the MSA in time.

Washington to implement voluntary slowdown for ships to protect whales

Vessels entering and leaving Puget Sound will be asked to temporarily slow down to reduce underwater noise this fall. Washington state will launch this strategy from British Columbia on a trial basis, in order to help the Pacific Northwest’s critically endangered killer whales.
