In its latest Safety Digest, UK MAIB provides lessons learned from an incident where a deck air compressor automatically started while an engineer was making some final adjustments to the compressor’s belt, resulting in trapping his hand between the pulley and the belt and severing part of his index finger.

Even more so since COVID-19 resulted in employees adapting to work remotely from their homes or through a hybrid approach, with time divided between homes and offices. Stairway to Safety

Early in October, at the request of IMO, the International Maritime Pilots Association (IMPA) conducted a worldwide safety campaign. this was, essentially, a two-week online survey, carried out by Pilots, of the ladders they are using.
