Intertanko and Intercargo advise on Increased Security Threats for vessels operating in the Gulf of Guinea.

Several attacks have occurred targeting tankers, with one resulting in a seafarer being kidnapped whilst loading alongside.

Following these attacks, the industry - consisting of the Round Table plus OCIMF - has agreed on a guidance document. Of particular importance is following the guidance laid out in the BMP West Africa and the reporting requirements contained within.
